TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

Matches per category (women and men) will be played in a league format in 2 groups of 5 teams each. The organizers can change formats at their discretion. A minimum of 5 matches are guaranteed under any competition format. Some of the teams may have to play 2 matches on the same day, one after the other, with 1 hour break.

POINTS
Match won: 3 points; match drawn: 1 point; match lost: 0 points. In the event of a tie on points in the Group stages, goal difference shall apply then goals scored. If the teams are still level, then the result will be decided by the toss of a coin.

LENGTH OF MATCHES & COMPETITION DAYS
Women 20+ category and Men 40+ category: 2×20 minutes, with a 5 minute break for half-time. Three competition days

TROPHIES                                                                                                                                                                                     Two trophies for each team from 1st to 2nd place in each category. One Fair Play trophy for one team in each category. One participation medal for all players and leaders / trainers

FORMAT OF GROUP STAGES AND RANKING                                                                                                               In each category, there are 10 teams. These 10 teams are divided in 2 groups, each one with 5 teams. Women’s Open category, group A and group B. Men’s Open category, group C and group D. At the first 2 competition days, the 5 teams of each group is playing one another. That means 4 matches per team. After these 2 days, there is a ranking per group, from 5 (less points) to 1 (most points). At the 3rd competition day. the first team (after the second competition day) from group A (the same for group C) versus the first team from group B (the same for group D), this is the match for the 1st place and the 2nd place winner. The teams that ranked second after the previous competition day, play together for the ranking places 3 and 4. The teams that ranked third after the previous competition day, play together for the ranking places 5 and 6. The teams that ranked fourth after the previous competition day, play together for the ranking places 7 and 8. The teams that ranked fifth after the previous competition day, play together for the ranking places 9 and 10.

TOTAL AMOUNT OF PLAYERS, SUBSTITUTES / CHANGES
Minimum of 10 players in all categories. A total of 4 players and 1 goalkeeper per match. Substitutes shall be brought in to play by advising the referee.

AGE LIMIT                                                     

Women’s Open category, from 20 years old to 40 years old

Men’s Open category, from 40 years old to 60 years old

FOOTBALL FACILITY                                                                                                                                                               Great pitches of well kept artificial grass within walking distance from the hotels (2 minutes) are ready for the teams. Facilities at the pitches include 4 pitches are the field of play for the tournament, changing rooms and bar-cafeteria. The pitches has the official international accepted dimensions. Exeptions:

  1. The matches will be played on reduced pitch sizes of 42 x 25m. (mini soccer pitch dimensions)
  2. No-off sides,
  3. Goalkeepers cannot kick from the hand
  4. The matches shall be contested between two teams of a maximum of 5 players plus 5 substitutes. A team shall not play with less than 4 players.
  5. All players shall wear suitable footwear, numbered t-shirts and shin-pads and all items of jewellery removed.
  6. In the event of a color clash the first named team shall wear bibs. Goalkeepers must be clearly identified – i.e. a different color top to the rest of his & the opposing team.
  7. Rolling substitutes will apply. Substitutes may only enter the field of play at the halfway line and only when the player being replaced has left the field of play and there is a stoppage in play. The referee shall be informed of the substitution.
  8. The referee’s decision on aspects of play shall be final.
  9. The director of the tournament may fine any team or / and order the match(s) to be replayed of any game that has been abandoned, suspended, or postponed due to adverse conditions, injury, safety grounds or misconduct by players or spectators.
  10. A player receiving 3 yellow cards will be suspended for 1 game
  11. At the final match, if teams are level at the end of the game, then 5 penalty kicks are be taken by each side followed by ‘sudden-death’ if required.
  12. The ball used is the futsal ball / mini soccer ball

Women and Men Teams supposed to participate in the competition do not have to be members of a club by all means. District or region, town or county or representative teams, independent teams built by a party of friends, university teams, sports academies, mini soccer clubs, corporate teams, players from football non professional women and men clubs, and veterans’ football teams can take part in the tournament. There are 2 categories at each tournament, the Women’s Open (20+ age) and the Men’s Open (40+ age). Group your company and come to enjoy!

Each team can be consisted by 10 players and 1 head leader / trainer. Each team is more than welcomed to be escorted by attendants, fans, friends, family members, etc. Each player and leaders of the teams has to agree to be identified on the basis of passports, which contain the date of birth and citizenship of the participants. These are needed to keep the fairness of the competition and for preparing the participation and accreditation cards. The accreditation cards will be used during the whole period of the tournament and each team member should have them, in order to be allowed play the matches. On accreditation procedure (taking place at the first day after the arrival at the hotel) the leader of each team, in the name of all the team members approves by his/her signature of the fact that the organizer of the tournament does not take the responsibility for any kinds of injuries ensued during the matches. The whole responsibility is taken by the leader of each team and its members themselves, who are in charge of their own health, possessions, valuables and themselves. On arrival at the accreditation the leader of each team signs a statement about the fact that all the members of the teams, the leader and the attendants have responsibility insurance and in case of proved damages made by the members, trainers or attendants the team assumes financial responsibility. (e.g. for damaging objects of the hotel and the football facility, losing them, hooliganism or damages in values relied on the members of the team, etc.). On arrival at the accreditation, all players should carry an official paper from a doctor to prove their good health condition. On arrival at the accreditation the leader of each team signs a statement about the fact that all the players of the teams and the leader does not work / play at any professional football club, under a contract.

The teams and their leaders and attendants that wish to take part in the Corfu, Santorini, and Crete Fives have to accept the rules of the tournaments. Your registration (qualifying for the entry and paying the registration package fee) will mean that you accept the arrangement rules of the tournament, the rules of refereeing the matches and in case of possible arguments you accept the decisions of the referee and arbiter. All teams, their leaders and attendants who wish to participate in the tournament have to behave in the spirit of fair play. Since teams are arriving from all parts of the world, it’s of basic importance to be tolerant and respectful towards other teams and play an honest game during the contest. Members of the teams and the attendants who do not observe the basic rules of human behavior after several requesting and commands and disturb the process of the tournament for several times (for example, act as racists, hurt other people’s dignity, do not recognize the Fair Play spirit, are violent, aggressive and bully) in the opinion of the organizer, can be disqualified from the tournament on the basis of the resolution of the tournament director, mr. Georges Goutzioupas.
